A Study on World Bank Climate Investment Funds

A Study about World Bank Climate Investment Funds

Introduction: Recent years have seen the World Bank brand itself with two new images: a green “climate bank” ready to tackle tough environmental challenges, and a “gender equality bank” leading the struggle for women’s rights. In September 2008, the World Bank Board approved a Strategic Framework on Climate Change and Development with the stated aim of helping poor countries overcome development obstacles posed by climate change.

Case Study on Climate Investment Funds

Case Study of Life Expectancy of Home Components

Case Study about Life Expectancy of Home Components

Introduction: The life expectancies of the components of a home depend on the quality of installation, the level of maintenance, weather and climate conditions, and the intensity of use. Some components may remain functional but become obsolete due to changing styles and preferences or improvements in newer products while others may have a short life expectancy due to intensive use. The average life expectancy for some components has increased during the past 35 years because of new products and the introduction of new technologies, while the average life of others has declined. NAHB’s last such study on the life expectancy of housing components was published in Housing Economics in August 1993.

Case Study on Home Components

In the summer of 2006, NAHB conducted a comprehensive telephone survey of manufacturers, trade associations and researchers to develop information about the longevity of housing components. Many of the people interviewed emphasized that the life expectancy of housing components is greatly affected by the quality of maintenance. They also noted that changing consumer preferences can result in products being replaced long before — or after — the end of their practical life expectancy. Keep reading…

A Case Study on Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCE)

A Case Study about Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCE)

The purpose of social studies instruction is to develop social understanding and civic efficacy. The Grade Level Content Expectations (GLCE) balance disciplinary content and processes and skills that contribute to responsible citizenship and form a foundation for high school social studies coursework. The disciplinary knowledge found in this document can be used by students to construct meaning through understanding of powerful ideas drawn from the disciplines of history, geography, civics and government, and economics.

Case Study on Grade Level Content Expectations

These ideas can be best supported by assessment and instruction that focuses on the Standards for Assessment and the Standards for Teaching and Learning found in the Michigan Curriculum Framework.Effective social studies instruction and assessment incorporate methods of inquiry, involve public discourse and decision making, and provide opportunities for citizen involvement. Each year, students should receive instruction that allows them to think and act as historians, geographers, political scientists, and economists. Keep reading…

A Case Study for Industrial Employment

Replication and reanalysis are important endeavors in economics, especially when new findings run counter to conventional wisdom. In their Comment on our 1994 American Economic Review article, David Neumark and William Wascher (2000) challenge our conclusion that the April 1992 increase in the New Jersey minimum wage led to no loss of employment in the fast-food industry.

Using data drawn from payroll records for a set of restaurants initially assembled by Richard Berman of the Employment Policies Institute (EPI) and later supplemented by their own datacollection efforts, Neumark and Wascher (hereafter, NW) conclude that “… the New Jersey minimum-wage increase led to a relative decline in fast-food employment in New Jersey” compared to Pennsylvania. Case Study of Philippine Export Promotion Policies

Case Study about Philippine Export Promotion Policies

Introduction: Export promotion, An export-oriented economic policy has boosted the economics of the Newly Industrialised Countries of Asia. Philippine policy makers have also realised that the Philippines cannot achieve its aim of becoming the next “economic tiger” of Asia without shifting to an export-oriented economic programmer.

Anchoring every successful export-oriented programme are the export promotion policies carried out by the different public and private export promotion organisations. These policies stimulate export entrepreneurship and help tomake the business community more highly aware of the profit potential of the export market.

Abstract: Two related literatures interested in interactions between CEOs and direct subordinates (span of control) are top management team (TMT) research in management and the formal models of organizational structure in economics. We measure how a sample of 65 CEOs allocates their work time (span of activity) and evaluate the validity of the implicit assumptions of these two literatures.

A Case Study on Empowering Strategic Decision-Making in the Postal Services Industry

Overcoming these challenges demands, among other factors, a clear understanding of the economics of the postal sector, which adequately supports key strategic and industry reshaping decisions. For example, a postal operator designing a cost optimization programmer will need to assess ways of adapting the workforce mix, understand the cost-impact of the number of customer-service locations or analyze the financial implications of a reconfiguration of the network. Regulatory agencies may require understanding of the financial effect of specific regulatory provisions. These analyses demand world-class competitive intelligence and economic analysis tools, but they also demand the support of internal processes and the matching of staff skills.
