A Case Study for Transformational Leadership, Transactional Leadership and Management

A Case Study about Transformational Leadership, Transactional Leadership and Management

This research paper is a comparison of transactional leadership and management(as a unit) to transformational leadership. In any event the scope of this paper will notallow for comparison between the three in all respects. Therefore, in the sections on the pitfalls of transformational leadership, the attributes of transformational leadership andleadership and management, transactional leadership will not be at the focal point.

Case Study on Transactional Leadership and Management

The focus will be on transformational leadership because it embodies the universally accepted principles toward which all organizations should strive. In the following sections, several definitions of transformational and transactional leadership will be reviewed. There has been growing interest in the study of transformational leadership. The pace of change confronting organizations today has resulted in calls for more adaptive, flexible leadership. Adaptive leaders work more effectively in rapidly changing environments by helping to make sense of the challenges confronted by both leaders and followers and then appropriately responding to those challenges. Adaptive leaders work with their followers to generate creative solutions to complex problems, while also developing them to handle a broader range of leadership responsibilities. Keep reading…

A Study for Role of Democratic Leadership Communication towards Organizational Performance: Sri Lankan Public Hospital

A Study About Role of Democratic Leadership Communication towards Organizational Performance: Sri Lankan Public Hospital

Background: Renewed calls for understanding the nature of democratic leadership and its role in democratic movements in organizations are made by Gastil (1994). For the author, the existing definitions of democratic leadership are inconsistent and inadequate. As defined by the author, democratic leadership is “conceptually distinct from positions of authority; rather, it is defined as the performance of three functions: distributing responsibility among the membership, empowering group members, and aiding the group’s decision-making process” (p.953). For Gastil, many, most, or all members of a group are served by these functions in order to exchange the roles of leader and follower. Moreover, a limited number of practical and moral considerations are identified by the author in assessing the appropriateness of the democratic leadership model for different groups.

Case Study on Democratic Leadership Communication

Since leadership plays a pivotal role in democratic movements in organizations, understanding the nature of democratic leadership is essential. Also, little research, so far, has defined democratic leadership within the context of democratic movements in organizations. The leadership literature has paid no or little attention to democratic leadership in such movements, focusing on democratic leadership within small groups and organizations (Choi, 2007). Choi emphasizes that although the available literature on leadership has underlined some characteristics of democratic leadership, it has ignored other demonstrated characteristics of democratic leadership for achieving democratic values on behalf of democratic movements in organizations. Moreover, Gastil (1994) argues that “the absence of a clear definition may have also contributed to the decreased amount of research on democratic leadership”. Keep reading…

A Case Study on A Framework for Information Overload Research in Organizations

A Case Study about A Framework for Information Overload Research in Organizations

Abstract: Based on literature from the domains of organization science, marketing, accounting, and management information systems, this review article examines the theoretical basis of the information overload discourse and presents an overview of the main definitions, situations, causes, effects, and countermeasures. It analyses the contributions from the last thirty years to consolidate the existing research in a conceptual framework, to identify future research directions, and to highlight implications for management.

Case Study on Overload Research in Organizations

Introduction: In this case study, we present a literature review on the topic of information overload in management-related academic publications. The main elements of our review approach are literature synopsis, analysis and discussion (Webster & Watson, 2002). These three elements serve, in our view, the three main purposes of a literature review, namely to provide an overview of a discourse domain (e.g., compiling the main terms, elements, constructs, approaches and authors), to analyze and compare the various contributions (as well as their impact), and to highlight current research deficits and future research directions. These three objectives should be met with regard to the topic of information overload, as a clear overview, an analysis of the major contributions, and an identification of future research needs are still missing for this domain. keep reading..

Case Study on Decentralization: Conceptualization and Measurement

Case Study about Decentralization: Conceptualization and Measurement

Decentralized government institutions are doing more of the work of government than ever before, but there is little agreement about 1) what decentralization means, or 2) how it should be measured. To overcome this confusion, this article builds on standard definitions of decentralization that include three core dimensions: fiscal, administra- tive, and political. The article offers an empirical test of that definition using factor analysis of data from 1996 for sixty-eight countries.

Case Study on Conceptualization and Measurement

Factor analysis confirms these three core dimensions and generates a score for each case in each dimension, allowing coun- tries to be measured according to their type and degree of decentralization. In future work, these scores can be used for hypothesis testing about the causes and effects of decentralization on important social outcomes. This exercise demonstrates that concep- tual confusion need not hamper research when empirical tests can help verify concep- tual categories. Keep Reading..

Case Study on Role of Corporate Image In The Process of Company Takeovers

Case Study about Role of Corporate Image In The Process of Company Takeovers

Abstract: In the modern business environment, where companies need to differentiate themselves from the competition, the role of the corporate image attains its full affirmation. The rise of global ecological awareness motivates companies to implement standards of ecological and social responsibility and to incorporate these values in their corporate image. Apart from that, the modern business environment is also characterized by changes of ownership and management in companies, i.e., processes of mergers, acquisitions and takeovers. Depending on the reaction of the board of directors and management, takeovers can be friendly or hostile.

Case Study on Role of Corporate Image

Corporate image is the result of everything a company does. Image is determined by all the company’s activities in the domain of products and services, behavior and attitudes (corporate culture), approach to growing questions regarding ecologically acceptable and socially responsible business practices, and corporate communications. All this influences the forming of public perceptions regarding what the company actually represents, with different groups forming their own perceptions regarding the company’s image. A common element among the numerous definitions of corporate image can be observed: image primarily relates to the overall impression that the company leaves in the public consciousness.

A Study on The Principle of Continuity in Origins of Life Research

A Study about The Principle of Continuity in Origins of Life Research

In what follows I will introduce one of the reasoning strategies appealed to in origins of life research, called the principle of continuity (PC). Natural philosophy has a history of invoking nature’s continuity – an apparently metaphysical precept that has acquired close ties with nature’s lawfulness, intelligibility, and, more recently, with evolutionary thinking.

case study on Principle of Continuity

I will provide some definitions and some examples of what scientists think PC is doing in their research. I’ll make some suggestions about why it’s invoked in origins research and offer a couple of case studies about how it is used and what it could possibly mean.

A Case Study of Public Sector Shared Services Provider

A Case Study about A Public Sector Shared Services Provider

Abstract: Corporate identity development, as a management strategy, has evolved from the simple visual representation of an organisation to a more complex corporate strategy over the past thirty years. There is now considerable research to suggest that effective corporate identity management results in creating a positive corporate image and simultaneously helps organisational members to align their work with the organisation’s vision and goals.

Case Study on Public Sector Shared Services Provider

Introduction: Corporate identity management is becoming an increasingly important focus of marketing and organisational communication literature. This literature suggests that effective corporate identity management creates a positive corporate image and simultaneously helps organisational members to align their work with the organisation’s vision and goal. Organisations are starting to recognise that they face the challenge to understand and define the organisation for the purpose of helping staff with their own self-definitions as well as for the achievement of organisational goals. This paper explores corporate identity as the planned and operational self-presentation about what the organisation is, what it does and how it does it, and how management and employees identify themselves in terms of Balmer and Soenen’s.
