  1. [...] Abstract : Bangladesh is one of the most populated countries in the world, with a population of about 135 million growing at 2.06% annually. Urban population, accounting for 25% of the total, generates about 14,000 tons of waste per day, which poses serious social, environmental and health problems, especially in the capital city, where only 40% of the waste is collected while the rest fills up streets and unmanaged landfill sites. This situation motivated Iftekhar and Maqsood, two young urban planners, to form an NGO in the field of waste management called Waste Concern.
