Case Study in Atimi Software Inc.

For years, Atimi Software grew its customer base largely by word of mouth—thanks to its outstanding reputation for cross-platform development between Windows and Macintosh. When Atimi recently sought to grow its customer base more aggressively, it implemented an outbound sales program—but soon realized that it lacked the accurate contact data it needed to penetrate target companies.

Atimi Software Inc Case Study

“We knew that the three people on our new outbound sales team would face some challenges right off the bat,” says Scott Michaels, Vice President of Client Services, Atimi Software. “When you target a large company—as we often do—it can be tough to reach the correct level of person. You can spend half your time working your way up through corporate gatekeepers.” Click here to read more…

A Case Study in Export Tracking Management System (ETMS)

Our client is one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in the world. With offices all over the world and a user base of more than 35,000, they have one of the most sophisticated network environment and stringent requirements for applications that run on their network.

EXPORT MANAGEMENT

The Challenges: Our client was in need of an application that would allow them to manage their shipments worldwide to reps within organization and to clients. Existing procedures felt short of providing senders and recipients with up-to-date tracking information and it lacked the ability to inform fulfillment warehouse of consolidating opportunities increasing shipment costs to unacceptable levels. A Case study: Enterprise Application Integration

Abstract: In this position paper, we present an architecture that we used in a case study on Enterprise Application Integration (EAI). The architecture encapsulates all business logic in a workflow, and uses intelligent adapters to provide for the “glue” that links the external applications to the workflow. These adapters are able to transform XML message formats into other data formats or into objects. They are intelligent by which we mean that the y are able to take different actions based on the content of the message. To communicate with the applications, the adapters can make use of the services offered by a message broker.

Application Integration

Introduction: The case study elaborated in this paper is situated in the context of an enterprise integration project after the merger of two large companies. The overall goal of the project is to enable the sharing of data and business processes among any connected app lications and data sources in the “new” enterprise, without having to make sweeping changes to the existing applications or data structures. Moreover, the integration allows the development of new services that are supported by the existing portfolio of backoffice applications with a minimal effort. Click here to read more…

Embedded Controller Based Smart Card Access

A smart card is like an “electronic wallet”. Imagine the power of a computer, the speed and security of electronic data, and the freedom to carry that information anywhere on earth. Imagine a computer so small it fits inside a plastic card like the credit card you carry in your wallet. Smart card technology has been around for more than 20 years. Since its first introduction into the market, its main application is for the payphone system. As card manufacturing cost decreased, smart card usage has expanded. In May 1996, severalcompanies including Microsoft, Hewlett-Packet and Schlumberger formed a PC/SC workgroup which aimed at integrating the smart card with personal computer (PC). This workgroup mainly concentrates on producing a commonsmart card and PC interface standards for the smart card and PC software producers. Many of the interface standards and hierarchy have already been established. Some of these prototype products are now available on the market.

Embedded Controller Based Smart Card Access

The security requirements of smart cards in personal communication system are two folds; they are authentication & protection of information. This paper deals with matter pertaining to the application of IC cards (or smart cards) in the security of personal communication system. Securityadvantages achieved by the use of smart cards in security
system are discussed. Smart card is required to perform three fundamental functions –
1) To communicate with a host device
2) To store data
3) And to process data received by and stored in the card.

Case Study: Integrating IT Environment in Lufthansa Airlines

Deutsche Lufthansa is one of the three largest airline companies in the world and the largest airline in Germany. To integrate a new passenger service system (PSS) into its existing IT structure, Lufthansa needed to find a way to map the new system with data housed in its numerous legacy applications. The airline looked to EDS, an HP company, and its Airline service-oriented architecture (SOA) for a best-in-class common platform that now standardizes processes and streamlines services across the enterprise, including Lufthansa’s partner carriers.

Businesses Are Turning to Cloud Computing

Demand for business expansion, profitability, and an enhanced user experience is accelerating the move to cloud computing. Cloud answers the enterprise’s need to simplify and to use the best resources from the best devices, wherever they happen to reside on the network. For chief information officers (CIOs), it’s an opportunity to reduce operational complexity and deliver greater value to the organization. Find out more through this cloud computing case study.
