Case Study on the Effectiveness of Telephone Coaching

Study about the Effectiveness of Telephone Coaching

The RCN has made a substantial investment in the development of internal coaches in order to support managers on the Management Development Programme (MDP). However the take up of the coaching provision by delegates has been variable and this is causing concern to the Organisational Development Department (OD Dept) as the coaching was designed to be an integral component of the programme.

Case Study on Telephone Coaching

The RCN at the end of November to start my coaching business and I plan to use telephone coaching. I am particularly interested in understanding how the availability of telephone coaching affects the uptake of coaching, as this will help me develop my offer to individual and organisational clients. In addition, I would like to understand how coaches ensure that the telephone sessions are as effective as face-toface sessions. I plan to incorporate this insight into my coaching practice using Kolb as a practice development model. keep reading…

A Case Study of a Telecommunications Company

A Case Study of  a Telecommunications Company

Abstract: The paper aims to illustrate a resistance to accounting change at a Fijian telecommunication company (FTL). The paper explains how change was introduced and was resisted at various levels of analysis – societal, organisational and individual. The resistance to accounting change is explained in terms of historical, cultural and political influences specific to Fiji. The globalising movement to install new public management (NPM) into public sector organisations met local resistance. The case study illustrates that political and cultural influences which are normally missing from conventional portrayals of institutional theory can stall the accounting change process. The paper describes how over time this resistance was overcome as old institutions were replaced with new routinised ways of conduct, of which accounting and control techniques were an integral part.

Case Study on Telecommunications Company

Introduction: International financial organisations have become an important aspect of the institutional environment in Fiji. International creditor institutions and donor agencies have promoted new public management (NPM) reforms in Fiji, as in all developing countries. The central features of NPM include: a shift in emphasis from process accountability to accountability for results and devolution of management control coupled with the development of improved reporting, monitoring and accountability mechanisms . NPM involves the implementation of private sector concepts in public organisations. Keep reading….

A Study on Caching Strategies in Workaholics: Mobile Environments

A Study about Caching Strategies in Workaholics: Mobile Environments

Abstract: In the mobile wireless computing environment of the future a large number of users equipped with low powered palmtop machines will query databases over the wireless communication channels. Palmtop based units will often be disconnected for prolonged periods of time due to the battery power saving measures; palmtops will also frequently relocate between different cells and connect to different data servers at different times. Caching of frequently accessed data items will be unimportant technique that will reduce contention on the narrow bandwidth wireless channel. However, cache invalidation strategies will beseverely affectedly thedwconnection andmobility of the clients.

Case Study on Mobile Environments

Introduction: In the mobile wireless computing environment of the future maasive number of low powered palmtop machines will query databases over the wireless communication channels, Palmtop based units will often be disconnected for prolonged periods of time due to the battery power saving measures; they will also frequently relocate between different cells and connect to different data servers at different times. The mobile or nomadic computing environment no longer requires users to maintain a fixed and universally known position in the network and enables unrestricted mobility of the users. A Study about British Telecom Calls on Knoa to Manage Siebel CRM Applications

British Telecom (BT) one of the world’s leading providers of communications solutions and services deployed the Knoa Experience and Performance Manager (EPM) suite to optimize the performance of Siebel CRM and other enterprise applications within its global organization. This case study highlights the results BT has experienced using Knoa in its Retail Division. Rolling into 2007, BT was facing a business challenge to dramatically scale-up the end-user  population of the CRM application used in its Retail Division.

Case Study on British Telecom Calls

After conducting a Telecoms Strategic Review, the UK Office of Communications announced that it would end substantial business and competitive constraints that had affected BT ever since telecom deregulation and BT’s transformation into a public company. This would let BT take bold new initiatives with its traditional PSTN (consumer land line) business, still its biggest source of volume. But the legacy systems with which BT managed PSTN customer service would not meet its new needs, and reworking  these systems to suit their new role was deemed impractical. Keep reading…

A Case Study on Impact of Mobile Usage on the Interpersonal Relations

Case Study about Impact of Mobile Usage on the Interpersonal Relations

Abstract: Communication via mobile telephones is widespread in East Asian metropolis such as Seoul, Taipei and Tokyo. In the last ten years, the number of mobile telephone users has increased dramatically, with the younger generation in particular depending on the services available via mobile telephones. This paper explores the relationship between the voice and text messaging communications of these young consumers through their mobile telephones and their interpersonal relations.

Case Study on Impact of Mobile Usage

It analyses how mobile telephone usage affects relationships between respondents by comparing models of the cause-effect relationship of several latent factors in different environments, namely dependency on mobile telephone communication, perception of friendships, individual factors and IT literacy. By applying a covariance structure analysis, the correlations between latent and observable variables can be successfully visualized. The results show that mobile telephones have little influence on the perception of relationships among the younger generation, although somewhat different structures of interdependency exist in these metropolitan areas. Mobile Commerce: Mobile commerce means that people use mobile technologies to deal with business processes in their daily work (Heijden & Valiente, 2002). Liu (2000) indentified that any activity using word or voice or using public or private internet to communicate, exchange data or make transactions through mobile devices is considered as mobile commerce. Shih and Shim (2002) divided mobile commerce into two purposes: for consumer and for business. The consumer purpose mobile commerce means to utilize wireless devices such as PDAs and cell phones to provide personal information or activities. The business purpose mobile commerce means utilize mobile devices to complete business operations or increase companies’ productivities. Gunasekaran and Ngai (2003) also defined any direct or indirect transactions involving monetary value can be called m-commerce as long as they are completed on wireless telecommunication networks. Case Study on Capacity Planning In A Telecommunications Network

Case Study about Capacity Planning In A telecommunications Network

Overview: Satisfying the demand in a timely fashion is a critical task in any company. In a service sector like telecommunications where sold information transmission units cannot be stored in inventory or cannot be backordered, having appropriate capacity to fulfill all demand becomes crucial. In order to achieve this goal, not only a well designed planning system but a sound capacity expansion strategy is necessary. In this paper, capacity planning in a telecommunications network is studied through the novel application of inventory control techniques aiming to meet the demand to a certain service level.

Case Study on Telecommunications Network

Introduction: A telecommunications system typically consists of a physical infrastructure through which information is transported from a source to a destination. Among the most important types, information comprises data and voice (Veerasamy and Venkatesant, 1999). A telecommunications network is generally formed by a series of workstations, coordinated by servers and a variable group of autonomous devices, such as routers and switches. An illustrative example of a telecommunications network can be seen in Figure 1. Each active device that intervenes in the communication in an autonomous fashion is called ‘a node’. All nodes communicate among each other directly through information transportation networks.
