Solution: SunGard, working with partners Intel and Microsoft, conducted benchmark testing to determine the best ways to enhance scalability, which had encountered IO bottlenecks with previous attempts to grow the grid beyond 48 computing cores. Test loads were created simulating a balance sheet of 120,000 positions grouped into 1,700 portfolios (accounts), through 1,000 randomly generated interest rate paths.
