Background: The Orient Power Group was a Hong Kong listed electronics manufacturer, operating eight factories across China, principally with respect to home entertainment and audio products. The Group entered into restructuring discussions with its lenders which it owed over HK$1.2 billion inmid 2005, following the commencement of litigation for breach of intellectual property rights against it. The restructuring was not successful and following far worse than expected financial results for the Group in early 2006, we were appointed by the bank group as Receivers and Managers with a mandate to seek to extract value for the secured creditors.
