The challenge: The three transport authorities were looking for a complete and competitive solution, which would ensure transparent allocation of revenue between the operators. In parallel with the range of interoperable tickets, each authority wished to remain in full charge of its tariff policies and be free to create tickets adapted to its needs within its own area. In addition, the equipment supplied for the new system had to be able to handle existing tickets already used on the various networks. Finally, the solution also had to be capable of including other operators in the future, as well as new features such as online buying.

The solution: Our Atlas interoperable central system instantly redistributes revenue between the various operators. Being modular, it offers each transport authority private access to its own operating area, giving it complete freedom to develop its tariff policies. Management of the interoperable card is carried out by a fourth module, controlled jointly by the three parties. This shared architecture enables deployment costs and operating costs to be fully apportioned. In the future, it could even integrate any other transport authorities that wish to join the interoperable area…
